Isaac Bashevis Singer (1902-1991), awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1978

Isaac Bashevis Singer was a Polish-born Jewish writer who was a leading figure in the Yiddish literary movement, writing only in Yiddish. His impassioned narrative art brings universal human conditions to life.
